Good Morning Lord!

Jan 5, 2025    Pastor Mark Geer

This week at The Journey is our Annual Week of Prayer as we kick off the New Year of 2025. Prayer is the foundation of all we do here and so each year we give ourselves to prayer and starting the New Year off right.

In today’s message Pastor Mark Geer begins a two-part message on “The Value of Prayer.” He is using the pattern of Jesus in Mark 1:35 where Jesus rose up early in the morning, a long while before it was even daylight, and went out and departed to a solitary place where he might pray.

Pastor Mark suggests that we each spend “A Morning with God” and make it a practice of greeting the Lord each morning with a hearty “Good Morning Lord!” to set the focus for our day. He showcases some examples of some great Spiritual Giants of the faith who made prayer a priority, including George Mueller, John Wesley, Martin Luther, the prophet Daniel and of course Jesus. He then details in this and next week’s message the following five valuable steps that you can practice when spending your mornings with God. They have the ability to impact your life in a powerful and spiritual way – making your more sensitive to God and ready to engage the challenges of your day in faith and with spiritual success.

Those steps are:

1) To Withdraw – And Be Alone.

2) To Be Quiet – To Be Still.

3) To Listen – And hear God’s voice.

4) To Express Yourself – To converse with God in a conversational manner.

5) To Receive – To accept form God Empowerment & Encouragement for the Spiritual Journey of Life!

We hope today’s message inspires you to spend more time with God and that your New Year of 2025 is a most incredible and intimate journey with Jesus Christ.
