Good Will Toward Men

Some have said that a good and loving God wouldn’t send people to hell, if it exists at all. Other point to God with anger and blame Him for all the bad things that happen on this planet. I get it, life is filled with tragedy and heartache, pain and hate. Nevertheless, haven’t people read the Revelation of God and His message in the Bible regarding His plan for creation?

Pastor Mark Geer discussed God’s Good Will Toward Men in this Christmas Message entitled, “God’s Favor Upon Humanity.” In it he unpacks the incredible love and favor God has for the world and for humanity which He created. There have been moments when God could have destroyed all that He made due to the Fall of Adam and Eve and the wicked propensities toward which mankind’s sinful nature drives him. But instead, God consistently shows His love and grace toward mankind, culminating in sending His one and only Son to give His life as a ransom for the sins of humanity.

Yes, its true that those who do not receive Christ as their personal Lord and Savior will spend eternity in the Lake of Fire under the judgment of God for their unrepented sins and sinful nature. (And yes, I believe that hell is real!) However, those who turn to God’s Son, Jesus Christ, and accept God’s provision of salvation from sin will be born again and spend an eternity with God in heaven! John 3:16 says, “God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him will not perish, but have everlasting life!” What favor! What blessing! What Good Will Toward Men.
