The Concept of Sacrifice & The Death of Jesus Christ [Part 1]
This Sunday we continue our summer message series entitled, “A Theology of Sacrifice.” Have you ever read the Old Testament and been overwhelmed by all the animal sacrifices, the types of offerings mentioned, and the specific requirements for what animals to bring and ALL THE BLOOD!? It isn’t without purpose.
In this series we hope to introduce the concept of sacrifice that is so prevalent in the Old and New Testament narratives, and bring some meaning to these sacrifices and the implications they have for our lives.
In this Sunday’s Message: “The Concept of Sacrifice & the Death of Jesus Christ - The Biblical Narrative of the New Testament” Pastor Mark leads us reflect upon how the sacrificial language of the Old Testament bleeds over into the New Testament and shows us that everything in the Old Testament was pointing to Jesus in the New Testament. Today we observe the sacrificial language of the Biblical narrative of the New Testament, then apply it to our salvation, and finally seek to understand it in a most personal way.
As we noted last week, this journey unveils the heart of God as He foreshadows through His Word the revelation of a Supreme Sacrifice that was yet to be offered, whom we know to be the person of Jesus Christ, God’s Son. The coming of Christ fulfilled these past symbols and prophecies and His sacrifice effects our salvation in the most incredible ways. Take a listen to this message and find out for yourself.
We pray you will be blessed as you listen to today’s message. If you should like to have more information about this subject or have made a decision to follow Christ, we would love to have you reach out and contact us using the connection card on our website. We would love to encourage you in this new journey of faith. God bless you!
