Message #114 - ESCHATOLOGY - The Doctrine of the Future: The Last Days (Part 4)

Oct 20, 2024    Pastor Mark Geer

Today we continue our Systematic Theology Series as we examine the study of Eschatology ~ the Doctrine of the Future.

In Today’s message Pastor Mark Geer takes us deeper into the topic the blessed hope we have in Jesus’ promise of resurrection. There are a number of resurrections mentioned in the Scriptures. Some are references to individuals in both the Old and New Testaments, including Jesus. However, other references to resurrection relate to events in the future during the Last Days.

The hope believers have is in the rapture of the church and the resurrection of all who have fallen asleep in Jesus in this age, which the Bible calls the First Resurrection. Another phase of this First Resurrection occurs at the end of the Great Tribulation in which the martyrs of this time of persecution, along with the Old Testament Saints are raised to life.

Another resurrection, however, is mentioned in Scripture as well that refers to the resurrection of the wicked and their judgment before the Great White Throne, after which they are cast into the Lake of Fire. We pray with John, who states in Revelation 20:6, “Blessed and holy are those who have part in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years.” We hope you find that hope as you listen to today’s message.

Our desire for this broader study of Systematic Theology for Daily Living is to take a practical look at the study of God and various elements of biblical and spiritual truth which are designed to help us all understand God and draw us nearer to Him as our Creator and to Jesus Christ as our Savior.
