Apr 10, 2022    Pastor Mark Geer    Series: Systematic Theology for Daily Living / Text: Genesis 2:7; Ecclesiastes 12:6-7; Matthew 10:28; 2 Cor. 5:1-8; 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24; Hebrews 4:12

Today we continue our Systematic Theology study of Soteriology – God’s great plan of salvation. Today we consider some various Biblical terms used in the Bible to show how Christ’s death met the incredible needs of humanity’s salvation, making peace with God.

In today’s message we also look at the matter of the extent of the atonement as it relates to these difficult questions: Who did Christ die for? Did Christ die for the whole world, or only for the elect? If for the whole world, then why are not all saved?

We know that God, from eternity past, had a wonderful plan to rescue and save humanity from the sin He knew we would enslave ourselves in. This study Soteriology examines the price God was willing to pay for our atonement through sending Jesus Christ His Son to die on the cross for our sins and rise again victoriously.

Our desire for this broader study of Systematic Theology for Daily Living is to take a practical look at the study of God and various elements of biblical and spiritual truth which are designed to help us all understand God and draw us nearer to Him as our Creator and to Jesus Christ as our Savior.
