Message #23 – The Creation of All Things (Part 5) – “The Christian Views of Origin"

In our continued study on the subject of The Creation of All Things our message today explores three Christian views of origin and how they compare with one another. Some are more radical and/or more technical than others, so we will leave any final decisions up to you, but the journey of exploration is faith-building. We will also examine the age of the earth and our universe. Will you land on the side of millions and billions of years or tens of thousands?

As we have said before, the study of creation is an incredible topic that brings up a lot of questions (both ancient ones and fresh ones), and it challenges us all to give serious consideration to the meaning of life, our purpose here on this planet, and most importantly God's purpose for bringing all things, visible and invisible, into existence.

In this series we are tackling a number exciting matters dealing with the following:
1) What is the Biblical (Mosaic) account of creation? (Genesis 1-2)
2) How did God created all things? (ex nihilo - out of nothing)
3) How do Scripture and Science relate to one another? (or do they)?
4) Is evolution feasible or not? And what should a Christian's response to it be?
5) Did God create the universe in 6 literal 24-hour days or over a long period of time (including millions of years)?
6) And just how old is the earth? And the human race? (Can we know?)

Our desire for this broader study of Systematic Theology is to take a practical look at the study of God and various elements of biblical and spiritual truth which are designed to help us all understand God and draw us nearer to Him as our Creator and to Jesus Christ as our Savior.
