Message #102 - ECCLESIOLOGY - The Doctrine of the New Testament Church (Part 8)

Mar 10, 2024    Pastor Mark Geer

Our message today continues our Systematic Theology Series in a study of Ecclesiology ~ an examination of the Doctrine of the New Testament Church.

We are once again addressing the matter of the purpose of the Church with a focus on its’ Mission and Ministry. Last week we looked at 3 purposes of the Church which included:

Purpose #1 ~ To Worship

Purpose #2 ~ To Nurture

Purpose #3 ~ To Purify Itself

And today we will be examining purpose #4 which is about to evangelize the world by sharing the good new of Jesus' incarnational life, His death upon the cross as the sacrificial Lamb of God who died for teh sins of the world, and His miraculous resurrection, ascension and promise to come again!

Pastor Mark challenges us to take seriously this Great Commission of Jesus and tells the story of Missionary John Allen Chau who went to the North Sentinel Island in the Andaman Island chain to share the story of Jesus with this unreached people group. Pastor Mark shares how John was a part of his former church and a closer personal friend of his own two children. He reads from John's incredible personal journal revealing his willingness to take the Good News where it has never been heard, even in the face of danger, hostility, and if necessary - death. John was reportedly killed on the North Sentinel Island on November 16, 2018 and his body never recovered.

Our desire for this broader study of Systematic Theology for Daily Living is to take a practical look at the study of God and various elements of biblical and spiritual truth which are designed to help us all understand God and draw us nearer to Him as our Creator and to Jesus Christ as our Savior.
