#19 The Church on the Move - The Gospel for the Gentile World
Our series in the Book of Acts continues with today’s message on how the conversion of Corenelius’ household spread the good news of the gospel for the Gentiles into all the world. We examine the Church on the move – taking the Gospel to the Gentile World and the redefined mission of the Early Church to include the rest of the world in the message of salvation.
The Biblical account in today’s message reveals how the gospel began to spread to the Gentile world as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus and Antioch. However, the stereotype of preaching only to Jews was still entrenched among many, until some men from Cyprus and Cyrene crossed the cultural divide and saw a great number of Gentiles saved! Eventually Barnabas and Saul would carve out a year long ministry to the Gentiles in Antioch, further cementing this important shift in the Early Churches thinking.
As we’ve been noting recently, in our world today we face similar challenges of division, judgmentalism, and preferential treatment. People who may not look like us, believe like us, speak the same language, or who share a different culture are often ostracized, ignored, or treated as inferior. Bitterness and hatred can often creep into our hearts and we find ourselves at war with those Jesus came to save. What can we do? Today’s message unlocks the key to freedom, a godly perspective, and the opportunity to experience a powerful revival in God’s Spirit!
We hope you will be blessed by this message and if you would like further direction on following Jesus, please take a moment to reach out to us either by filling out a connection card with your information or emailing us directly or calling the church for more assistance. We would love to visit with you!
