#13 The Sorcerer & The Holy Spirit

Our series in the Book of Acts continues with today’s message on the confrontation between Simon the Sorcerer & the ministry and power of the Holy Spirit.

In today’s message Pastor Mark Geer walks us through a most unique encounter between a powerful and well-known sorcerer named “Simon the Great” and his encounter the power of the gospel being shared by Philip the Evangelist. So impacting is this experience, accompanied by the signs and wonders that followed Philip’s ministry that Simon turns his life over to Jesus!

However, later after Peter & John came down from Jerusalem and prayed for the Samaritan believers to receive the Holy Spirit, something captured Simon’s attention and he tried to bribe the Apostles into giving him this power so that he could also perform this miraculous sign. They did not obliged him, but rather condemned him in his blasphemy and wickedness – calling on him to repent and pray for forgiveness.
