#20 The Church Under Persecution
Our series in the Book of Acts continues with today’s message on the Church under persecution. The Bible reveals that the church underwent some very challenging times in the First Century, including severe persecution, imprisonment, and martyrdom. All the while, they prevailed in prayer, thrived, and came through victorious!
The Biblical account in today’s message covers the beheading of James, the brother of the Apostle John, and a high-level security imprisonment of the Apostle Peter and his escape by angelic deliverance! This was the result of a continuously praying church… who persevered with incessant, never-ending, relentless intercession! On the other hand, the brutal king Herod died an agonizing death, being eaten by worms! The lesson is clear: Christians may suffer in this life as they seek to fulfill the will of God, but they will be greatly rewarded for their faithfulness as God fulfills His divine plans and punishes the evildoers.
We hope you will be blessed by this message and if you would like further direction on following Jesus, please take a moment to reach out to us either by filling out a connection card with your information or emailing us directly or calling the church for more assistance. We would love to visit with you!
