#15 The Damascus Road Experience
Our series in the Book of Acts continues with today’s message on the Damascus road experience and how Saul, the persecutor of the Early Church encountered the Lord Jesus and had his life turned around.
In today’s message Pastor Mark Geer digs into the aggressive attitude and anti-Christ attitude of the man names Saul of Tarsus and how he persecuted the early Christians. But then he encounters Jesus on the road to Damascus where he was intent on arresting Christians and dragging them bound to Jerusalem to put on trial. In this encounter the Lord commissions Saul to be His ambassador to the nations as a witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Saul is blinded by the glory of God, but that blindness would soon be healed, and he would become God’s obedient servant.
We also see another obedient servant in today’s message named Ananias, a devout Jew whom God sends to minister to Saul, lay hands on him and witness his healing, baptism in water and the Holy Spirit! It challenges all of us to answer the call of God, be obedient to whomever He sends us, and witness to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
We hope you will be blessed by this message and if you would like further direction on following Jesus, please take a moment to reach out to us either by filling out a connection card with your information or emailing us directly or calling the church for more assistance. We would love to visit with you!
